Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil looked in good spirits in training on Wednesday morning as he fist-bumped head coach Mikel Arteta.
The German international has not included in an Arsenal match-day squad since the 2-0 Premier League win over Southampton in June.
Ozil was an unused substitute, meaning his last appearances for the Gunners was lack in March when he laid on the assist for Alexandre Lacazette’s late winner against West Ham.
The Gunners were reportedly keen to sell the 31-year-old in the summer transfer window but a lack of interest saw him remains at Emirates stadium.
Ozil has less than 12 months remaining on his current deal of around £350,000 a week. But Mikel Arteta has refused to rule out a return to the first team for German star in recent week.
And it appears relations between the two former team-mates are still at a working level.
Mesut Ozil was part of Arsenal’s training session on Wednesday morning for players who were not on international duty.
In a live Sky Sports News Video of the session, Mesut Ozil looked in a jubilant mood, sharing jokes with his team-mates before saying hello to Mikel Arteta with a friendly-looking fist bump.
