Arsenal chiefs are switch their attention on complete the signings of both Lyon’s Houssem Aouar and Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey before the October 5 transfer deadline.
The Gunners’ chief have successful tie down new contract with Aubameyang follows months of negotiations between the Gabon international and the London club.
The 31-year-old has officially ended any doubts about his future by committing to the club until 2023 with a contract that will see his initial wage rise to £250,000-per-week.
Further bonuses and loyalty payments are set to take his earnings past £300,000-a-week and potentially beyond the £350,000-per-week that top earner playmaker Mesut Ozil makes.
As well as tying Aubameyang, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka down to new-and-improved deals, the Gunners have added wide winger Willian and highly-rated defender Gabriel Magalhaes to Mikel Arteta’s squad.
The Gunners have also signed Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari to permanent deals while re-signing Dani Ceballos on a season-long loan deal from Real Madrid.
And after Aubameyang committed his future at the club, Mikel Arteta’s side are switch their attention on complete the signings of both Houssem Aouar and Thomas Partey, according to The Daily star.
Mikel Arteta is eager to further bolster options in midfield with powerful midfielder Thomas Partey and Lyon’s attack-minded midfielder Houssem Aouar on his wishlist.
The reports adds that Arsenal’s board would like to bring both players to north London this summer despite their strained finances.
Atletico Madrid want £45million for Partey due to a release clause in his contract and are thought to have rejected a player-plus-cash bid that included Matteo Guendouzi for the Ghanaian earlier in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal cannot meet that asking price until they sell players with Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi, Sokratis, Sead Kolasinac topping the list of player who could leave before window shutdown next month.
Lucas Torreira is set to join Serie A side Torino on an initial loan move that would eventually net Arsenal £22million for the Uruguayan’s services.
Meanwhile, Emiliano Martinez is on verge to complete his £20million move Aston Villa after saying his farewell to the Gunners on Instagram on Tuesday evening.
The Mirror add that Lyon would demand over £40million for Aouar, 22, who is also admired by Gunners’ chief and Mikel Arteta.
Aouar, who scored nine goals and contributed ten assists in all competitions last season, was shown a straight red card as Olympique Lyon bowed 2-1 to Montpellier in Tuesday’s Ligue 1 encounter.
