There was better success for a Premier League player in Germany as Chelsea’s £89m man Kai Havertz set up two goals for his country in an action-packed 3-3 draw against Turkey last night.
Kai Havertz showed his intelligence in the final third by creating two assists, as he played through Julian Draxler for the opening goal and also provided a smart touch to set up Florian Neahus’ goal.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder arrived at Stamford Bridge in the summer as a highly-rated talent from Bayer Leverkusen and he’s starting to show just why that was.
He is a versatile attacker that can play in the number 10 creative role behind the striker, but can also cut in on his favoured left foot from a wide right role and that proved effective for him in a Germany shirt.
His Chelsea club career has started with three goals in his opening five appearances, as well as laying on two assist.
