Chelsea have moved to the top of the Premier League table on the afternoon after pulling off a 2-0 victory over Newcastle United.
The Blues opened the scoring after just 10 minutes courtesy of a forced Federico Fernandez own goal after brilliant cross from Mason Mount.
Tammy Abraham was selected to lead the front-line by Frank Lampard and doubled the margin on 65 minutes of the game after brilliant pass from Timo Werner.
The German hitman did not score Chelsea’s second goal, but it owed everything to his intent and ingenuity.
He collected the ball in his own half, darted between two black-and-white jerseys, skipped by a third and rolled the perfect pass into Tammy Abraham to apply the smart finish the creation deserved.
Timo Werner thought he had added a third but his goal was chalked offside following a brilliant pass from Hakim Ziyech.
